About Akira

I'd describe my personality as easy-going, patient, and experienced. I started tutoring 5 years into my teaching career. That was 20 years ago. I have been tutoring off and on ever since. Students have benefited from my ability to connect with their academic needs and make improvements by filling the holes in their understanding. In my spare time, I like to go surfing and play soccer. I was the coach of a girls' high school soccer coach for 5 years. I truly enjoyed working to improve their tactical and technical skills every day. One thing you should know about me is I am very patient with all of my students. I'm also very good at making connections with my pupils to make learning more enjoyable and productive. I have worked with dozens of students over the years and helped them become more confident in their ability to succeed academically. My skills include using technology to enhance learning. I can strategically show students the necessary steps to solve complex problems.
